１．Introduction

S.F.D. Corporation, a specialized manufacturer of laboratory-grown diamonds (artificial diamonds; hereinafter referred to as “lab-grown diamonds”), will commence sales of blue and pink diamonds utilizing innovative technology.

Colored diamonds exhibit their unique hues due to variations in light absorption caused by impurities and crystal defects within the diamond. While natural colored diamonds are difficult to obtain and command high prices, lab-grown diamonds can produce a wide range of colors through precise control of impurity concentrations and meticulous processing steps, such as heat treatment.

Through joint development with our parent company, EDP, we have achieved stable production of blue and pink diamonds and will now begin selling them as gemstones. These products are crafted by processing high-quality rough diamonds manufactured by EDP (Japan Made Diamonds: diamonds produced in Japan), and we plan to expand our lineup to include multiple colors.

Lab-grown diamonds allow for the control of impurity levels from the growth stage, enabling the reproducible creation of diamonds with targeted impurity concentrations. Furthermore, post-growth treatments like heating can alter the state of defects. Therefore, if the mechanism of the color-producing defect is understood, targeted crystal growth and post-processing can be employed to create the desired color. This is how we have achieved the blue and pink diamonds we are now selling as gemstones.

２．Colored Diamonds for Sale

The colored diamonds for sale are shown in the attached photo.
We will offer four shades of blue and pink, varying in intensity, as shown in this photo.

1) Size and Cut Shapes
・Size: 0.1 to 10 carats
・Cut Shapes: In addition to standard cuts like round brilliant, emerald, and princess, we plan to gradually introduce our proprietary new cut shapes.

2) Color Variations
・Blue Diamonds: Available in four shades ranging from Fancy to Vivid Blue
・Pink Diamonds: Available in one shade: Intense Pink

3) Supply System
・Supply Volume: Initial sales will be capped at 2,000 stones per month. Production volume will be gradually increased going forward.

３．Sales Method for This Product

Our company has already established a sales structure for lab-grown diamonds within Japan. For overseas markets, we sell through our Belgian consolidated subsidiary, SFD Antwerp BV. In particular, we have a proven track record in overseas markets, including the United States, utilizing e-commerce (EC) sales.

We plan to sell these colored diamonds both domestically and internationally, actively listing them on e-commerce sites. Initially, we will operate on a made-to-order basis, but we aim to secure a certain inventory within three months to flexibly meet demand.

４．Future Developments

While we have previously sold colorless lab-grown diamonds, the launch of these colored diamonds marks the start of our plan to expand our color offerings further. We will develop new colors following blue and pink, aiming to broaden our product lineup.

Furthermore, we are working to establish a system where rough diamonds manufactured by EDP are processed domestically in Japan, enabling us to offer them as Japan Made Diamonds, where all processes are performed in Japan. We will advance the development of processing facilities and specialized personnel to deliver diamonds that customers can purchase with ethical confidence.
